Disc 1 - Chapter 1: Introduction
- Introduction - You will get a description of what Microsoft Word is and what this program can be used for in the Introduction section. You will also learn how to open and access the program.

- Spell Check - In this Spell Check section you will learn how to use the built-in Microsoft Word spellcheck feature to insure the words in your text are spelled correctly.
- Grammar - This video shows you how Microsoft Word checks your text grammatically and how you can change the incorrect text accordingly.
- Thesaurus - Microsoft Word offers a thesaurus that you can use to find similar words or meanings that you can learn about in this section.
- Find & Replace - Here you will learn how to use the Find & Replace commands that allows you to find text in your document and automatically replace it with a different word or phrase.
- Word Count - In this section you will learn how to access and utilize the Word Count feature.
- Auto Correct - This section shows you how the Microsoft Word AutoCorrect feature works and what it will automatically change for you. In this video you will also learn how to add or remove words in the AutoCorrect database.
- Shifting Text - This video teaches you how to use the Shifting Text. This is similar to the cut, copy and paste features but you do not have to use the Clipboard.
- Auto Text - In this section you will learn about the Auto Text feature. This feature works like the AutoCorrect but rather than changing the text you have entered it will finish text. You will also learn how to add or remove words or phrases in the Auto Text database.
Disc 1 - Chapter 4: Formatting Text
- Fonts and Font Attributes - In this video you will learn how to format your text using the Font Dialog Box. Formatting this way allows you to add more detail to your text.
- Changing Case - This section shows you how to access the Change Case command in the Font Dialog Box. This comes in handy if you have accidentally typed several words in capitol and wish to make them lowercase or if you would like to capitalize the first letter of each word selected for a title.
- Highlighter - In the Highlighter section you will learn how to highlight text with color which looks like a highlighter on paper would.
- Format Painter - This video teaches you to use the Format Painter command to copy the formatting from text in your document to other text.
- Hyphenation - Here you will learn how to use the Hyphenation feature in Microsoft Word that allows you to automatically have hyphens at the end of your lines. This is most helpful when typing an article for a newspaper or magazine.
- Special Characters - In this section you will learn how to insert special text characters into your document such as Greek symbols, trademark signs and more.
- drop caps - This last section in Formatting Text is Drop Caps. A dropped cap is when the first letter of a paragraph is extended down. This creates a nice visual effect for book writing and more.

- Alignment - In this section you will learn how to change the format of your paragraph to the right, center, left and justified.
- Line Spacing - This video teaches you how to change the spacing between your lines in a paragraph or entire document.
- Paragraph Spacing - Here you will learn how to change to the spacing between entire paragraphs, similar to line spacing.
- Indentation - In the Indentation section you will learn how to indent paragraphs or lines.
- First Line and Hanging Indents - This section shows you how to create first line indents on a paragraph and hanging indents for a selected area.
- Bullets and Numbering - In this section you will learn how to add and format bullet points and numbering to a list or any selected text.
- Borders and Shading - Here you will learn how to add borders to your paragraphs and shading effects.
Disc 1 - Chapter 6: Tabs
- Using Tabs for Aligning Text - In this section you will learn how to use tabs to align the text in your Microsoft Word document. When you hit the Tab button on your keyboard in Microsoft Word the default is set to move over 5 spaces. Here you will learn how to change the tab to move to different points by altering the tab markers along the top of the window.
- Basic Tab Setting - This video teaches you how to use the Tab Dialog Box to set tabs more specifically and manually enter the number at which point you want a tab marker.
- Types of Tabs - Here you will learn about the different type of tabs available in the Tab Dialog Box and how each can correspond to your document.
- Tab Leaders - This section shows you how you can use Tab Leaders to make your document easier to read. You will learn how to create, move and change the Tab Leaders.
- Editing Tabs - This final section in Tabs teaches you how to move your tabs around so they do not conflict with each other. You will also learn how to edit a tab in the Tab Dialog Box. Lastly, you will learn how to clear tabs from the document.

Disc 2 - Chapter 1: Document Layout
- Page setup - In this section you will learn how to go to the Page Setup Dialog Box to view how your page appears along with make changes from portrait layout to landscape layout. You will also learn how to change your margins and paper type that you are printing on.
- print preview - This video shows you how to access the Print Preview of your document so you will see exactly how your document will print and how many pages.
- print - In the Print section you will learn how to print out your document.
- headers & Footers - Here you will learn how to create, edit and remove text and pictures from your Header and Footer. The Header and Footer of your page is at the very top and very bottom, generally outside the margins.You will also learn how to fully utilize the Header and Footer format box to insert page numbers, dates and more.
- page & Section breaks - This section teaches you about breaks. Word offers Page Breaks and Section Breaks. You will learn how to create a Page or Section Break at any point in your document.
- page numbering - In this section you will learn a different way to add page numbers to your document without using the Header and Footer.
- footnotes & endnotes - In this section you will learn how to create, edit and remove footnotes and endnotes in your document. These are used most commonly for explaining a piece of text in your document.
- creating columns - Here you will learn how to alter the layout of your text by creating columns like you would see in a newspaper or magazine.
- creating hyperlinks - This video shows you how to create hyperlinks in your document. A hyperlink is a word(s) that links to a web page when clicked upon.

- Inserting a Table - Microsoft Word has its own spreadsheet capabilities. In this first section of Tables you will learn how to create a basic table.
- Navigating a Table - Here you will learn how to move throughout a table you have created.
- Inserting Text into a Table - This video shows you how to type things into your table.
- Inserting and Deleting Rows and Columns - In this section you will learn how you can insert entire rows and columns and how to delete them as well.
- Merging and Splitting Cells - This section teaches you how you can merge cells together or split table cells separate.
- Header Row & Sorting - Here you will learn how to create a header row at the beginning and how you can sort data within your table.
- Formatting text in a Table - In this video you will learn how to edit and add formatting to your data.
- Formatting a Table - In this section you will learn how to format the table by changing the line size, adding borders and more.
- Drawing a table - This section teaches you how to draw your own table rather than use the create table command.
- Calculating within a table - Here you will learn how to use formulas and calculate numbers in your table.
- Converting Between Text and Tables - In this last section under Tables you will learn how to create a table using text you have already entered and vise-versa.
Disc 2 - Chapter 3: Styles
- Default Styles - You will learn how to use the default styles that Microsoft Word has available for you to format text quickly and easily in this section.
- Modifying Styles - This video teaches you how to edit the styles you have chosen for your document.
- Creating and Applying Styles - Here you will learn how to create and use your own unique style for formatting.
- Character and Paragraph Styles - In this section you will learn how to utilize Microsoft Word's character and entire paragraph styles.
- Style Following - This section shows you that Style Following is when one style applies to repetitive points of text so they all appear the same way.
- Copying Styles Between Documents - In this section you will learn how to copy a style from one document to a different one without creating it all over again.
Disc 2 - Chapter 4: Long Documents
- Create and Outline - In this section you will learn how to create an outline for lengthy documents. The outline will appear similar to a list of topics in your document.
- Working with Outlines - Here you will learn how to alter and format your document outline.
- Master Documents - This video shows that a Master Document is an outline for Microsoft Word. Here you will learn how create a Master Document along with how to use and format the Master Document.
- Insert Comments - In this section you will learn how to insert comments into your document that will give the reader further information or ask questions without the text being in the actual document.
- Go to... - This section teaches you how to use the Go To Tab in the Find & Replace Dialog Box. The Go To command is very helpful to navigate through long documents. You can go to certain pages or go directly to comments.
- Insert a File - Here you will learn how you can insert any file right into your document. The file you enter will arrive in your document in its entirety, this includes other documents.
- tracking Changes - You can set the Track Changes feature on so that Microsoft Word will track all the changes made to the document while it's on. This allows you to see any changes that have been made whether by you or someone else. You will learn how to turn on the Track Changes feature and follow through.
Disc 2 - Chapter 5: Reference Tools
- Bookmarks and Cross Reference - In this section you will learn how to create Bookmarks and Cross References throughout your document. These can be tracked in the Go To section for easy locating.
- Auto Summarize - This video shows you how to use the AutoSummarize feature. Microsoft Word has this feature so you can create a short summary at the beginning of your document or as a separate document. Microsoft Word goes through your document and creates the summary automatically.
- Table of Contents - Here you will learn how to create a table of contents in Microsoft Word. You will also learn how to edit the table of contents you have created. You can have the titles in your table of contents clickable to that actual section in your document.
- Index - In this section you will learn how to create an index at the end of your document in Microsoft Word without having to type it automatically. You can also make these clickable to their corresponding part of the document.
Disc 2 - Chapter 6: Mail Merge
- What is Mail Merge? - In this section you will learn the basic features and needs of Mail Merge.
- Create Main and Source Documents - Here you will learn how to create a Mail Merge using the Mail Merge Wizard.
- Edit and Insert Data - This video teaches you how to insert and edit the data for your letter.
- Filtering and Sorting - In this section you will learn how to filter and sort your contacts so that you can send the letter to certain people on the list only.
- Word Fields - In the Word Fields section you will learn how to create and edit word fields of your letter so that numbers and information can be changed once easily that will effect the entire letter where applicable.
- Final Merge - This section teaches you how to complete the merge using the Final Merge step to print your letter or you can take the records and put them all into one document. Alternatively you can merge the letter to an e-mail, new document or to your fax machine.
- Envelopes and Labels - Lastly in this section you will learn how to create envelopes and labels using the Mail Merge feature.
Disc 2 - Chapter 7: Graphics
- Insert Clip Art - In this section you will learn how to insert a picture from the Clip Art gallery of Microsoft Word into your document.
- Format Picture - Here you will learn how to format and edit the Clip Art picture you have inserted.
- Text Wrap - This video shows you the different ways you can wrap text around your Clip Art picture.
- Watermarks - In this section you will learn how to turn your picture from Clip Art into a Watermark that shows behind your text.
- Insert Picture From File - This section teaches you how to insert a picture that you have saved on your computer into your Microsoft Word document.
Disc 2 - Chapter 8: Drawing & Word Art
- Overview - In the Overview section you will learn how to bring up your Drawing Toolbar. You will also learn about the various buttons on this toolbar.
- Creating Lines, Shapes & Arrows - Here you will learn how to create a line, shape and arrow in your document from the Drawing Toolbar. You will also learn how to manipulate these drawings.
- Fills, Line Colors & Styles - This section teaches you how to change the fill option, line color and style of your drawings.
- Arranging and Grouping - In this section you will learn how to arrange your drawings within your document and how to group them together.
- Auto Shapes - This video shows you how to create and edit AutoShapes from Microsoft Word.
